Joan M. Wolfe, CPA
Joan was born and raised in Washington State. She moved to San Diego in 1981 and completed her Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Accounting from National University in 1984. She started as a staff accountant and became a Certified Public Accountant in 1987. After working in the tax department of several large local accounting firms for almost ten years, she started her own tax practice, which was merged into Hamilton Accountancy Corporation in 1997.
Joan currently provides tax planning, tax preparation, and Internal Revenue Service/Franchise Tax Board audit representation services, with an emphasis on estates, trusts, individuals, C corporations, S corporations, partnerships, and closely-held businesses.
In specializing with trusts and estates, Joan assists the trustee and/or executor with the myriad of tasks to close the trust and/or estate including the preparation of the final individual income tax returns for the decedent, preparing the estate tax returns as needed, fiduciary accounting, fiduciary income tax returns and trust funding.
Ms. Wolfe is the Past President of the Estate Planning Council of San Diego; the past chair of the La Jolla Probate Section; is a member of the Children's Hospital Foundation Estates and Trusts Committee, the San Diego Foundation Professional Advisor Council and the California Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Joan spends her free time with her family and enjoys gardening and travel.
